THE 2024 EDITION OF THE GOURMETS WINE GUIDE RATES BAIGORRI WINES

The scores of the new edition of the prestigious Gourmets Wine Guide in its 2024 edition are already known. In this edition, the Tasting Committee has analysed 4,187 wines, from 1,196 Spanish wineries, by means of blind tasting.

Seven wines from Bodegas Baigorri were tasted, and these are the results and the tasting notes awarded to each wine:

 

Baigorri De Garage 2018: 95 POINTS.

The tasting committee describes it as a wine with a garnet cherry colour. Complex and primary, fine notes of red plums, redcurrants, cherries, incense, cinnamon, cocoa, sandalwood, pink pepper, graphite and red tea. Meaty, structured, very well-integrated wood, vibrant and persistent finish, very sapid and inviting to drink.

 

Finca La Canoca 2021: 94 POINTS

The Gourmets Guide defines it as a wine with a garnet cherry red colour with bluish iridescence. Remarkable intensity, aromatic, hints of raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, Sacher cake, balsamic, confectionery, mushroom, liquorice, cinnamon and smoked. Savoury, fresh, fruity, well-assembled skeleton, pleasant sweetness, long spicy finish.

 

Baigorri BELUS 2018: 94 POINTS

Described by the Gourmets tasters as a wine with a garnet cherry colour with a high robe. Intense and deep nasal passage, hints of blueberries, blackberries, green pepper, green coffee bean, clove, laurel, thyme, graphite, Chinese ink, infusions, etc… Juicy, vibrant, well armed skeleton, mineral, ample length; persevering balsamic finish.

 

Finca Las Navas Maturana 2020: 94 POINTS

Deep cherry red colour with a violet rim. Intense, very primary, hints of blackberries, blueberries, cherries, raspberries, lavender, coffee beans, smoked, bitumen, cedar, leaves, pipe tobacco, etc. Meaty, concentrated, ample, mineral; persistent finish with a long finish.

 

Baigorri Blanco Fermentado en Barrica 2018: 93 POINTS

Golden straw colour. Intense and aromatic, hints of peach, ripe pineapple, plums, smoke, cinnamon, nutmeg, cedar, dried flowers, fine hydrocarbons and stone. Complex, sapid, structured, lively, enveloping and balanced. Persistent spicy finish.

 

Baigorri Crianza 2017: 92 POINTS.

Described as a wine with a brick ruby colour. Aromatic, hints of stewed plums, cherries, cinnamon, coconut, coffee bean, wafer, liquorice, incense, black tea, pepper and charcoal. Tasty, lively, balanced, spicy and tertiary. Persistent finish that encourages you to drink.

 

Baigorri Garnacha 2018: 92 POINTS

Bigarreau cherry colour with a high robe and garnet rim. Intense, primary, hints of raspberries, redcurrants, rose petals, balsamic, black tea, graphite, incense, toffee, etc. Sweet, structured, fruity, excellent vivacity, ample; long floral and spicy finish.
