The “Real Casino de Madrid” has awarded in a gala, held for the occasion, the Gran Oro prize to the wines recognized in the national competition organized every year.
Of all the wines tasted, only twenty have managed to win the highest recognition, the Gran Oro award. Among them is the wine Finca La Canoca, one of the best wines of the competition.
In this edition of the Real Casino Wine Competition, the jury was composed of renowned experts in sensory analysis from Italy and Spain. More than 50 people blind tasted the wines , scoring them to award the Grand Gold, Gold and Silver prizes to the best wines in each category.
On behalf of Bodegas Baigorri, Enrique Martín, sales manager for the central area of Spain , attended the awards ceremony.
Finca La Canoca
This is one of the Finca Baigorri wines. It comes from a 5.5 hectare plot located in Peciña, near San Vicente de la Sonsierra. Old Tempranillo vines on chalky clay soil in a unique setting, at an altitude of 640 metres above sea level.
After a meticulous selection in the vineyard, it enters the winery by gravity and is vinified in 5,000-litre oak vats.
Finca La Canoca has also recently obtained 95 points in the national Gourmets Guide and 94 points and 4 stars in the Peñín Guide.
