Rioja Alavesa vino B70

B70 BY BODEGAS BAIGORRI, AWARDED 97 POINTS IN THE GOURMETS GUIDE

Baigorri, one of the leading wineries in Rioja Alavesa, is celebrating a new recognition of its excellence. Its most limited edition wine, B70, has been awarded an exceptional score of 97 points in the Gourmets 2025 Wine Guide, consolidating its position as one of the most outstanding wines on the national and international scene.

This award not only underlines Bodegas Baigorri’s commitment to tradition and innovation, but also highlights the unique character of this wine. B70 is a very limited edition, with a production of just 1,000 carefully crafted bottles, making each unit an oenological jewel destined for the most demanding palates.

The B70 winemaking process is a tribute to respect for the land and the grape. Every detail is taken care of to the maximum to guarantee the quality and authenticity that characterises this winery. The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand, selecting the grapes from old Tempranillo vines planted in 1942, located at altitudes of over 600 metres, where the poor soils and extreme climate favour the production of grapes of exceptional quality.

After harvesting, each cluster is subjected to a meticulous selection process where the berry by berry destemming is carried out manually, ensuring that only the best grapes form part of this exclusive wine. Vinification, both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation is carried out in oak. The subsequent ageing is carried out in fine grain French oak barrels for the time necessary for B70 to reach its maximum expression (about 24 months), offering a perfect balance between intensity, elegance and complexity.

The result is a very elegant wine, with an overwhelming personality. Its notes of ripe black fruits, spices, toast and a mineral background make it a unique sensory experience. Each glass reflects the deep respect for winemaking tradition and the passion for excellence that define Bodegas Baigorri.

With the recognition of the Gourmets Guide, B70 is positioned as an essential wine in any collection, a tribute to the savoir-faire of one of Spain’s most emblematic wineries. A wine that the tasting committee of Guía de Vinos Gourmets has defined as ‘Intense, deep, with hints of blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, black pepper, cocoa, clove, cedar, gratifo, bitumen… Fleshy, structured, outstanding fruit, mineral, spicy and very persistent…’.
