Description

The BAIGORRI B70 is the ultimate expression of the terroir of the village of Samaniego, Rioja Alavesa, highlighting not power and concentration, but subtlety, elegance and complexity. Very old, extremely deep-rooted vines, in addition to the unique soil and climate conditions of Samaniego and the high elevation vineyards of the Rioja Alavesa. Nothing more is needed than a winemaking by gravity, that avoids any kind of intervention, in order to reflect the unique and genuine quality that arises in the vineyard.

Red wine made from the variety Tempranillo, sourced from very old vines, planted in the year 1942 in a single vineyard (La Majestad) located in the village of Samaniego, Rioja Alavesa.Yields below 2.000 kg per hectare.

After a manual picking, all the grapes are hand-selected, berry per berry, using vibration and selection tables. Long macerations and intracellular fermentations with indigenous yeasts in open wooden fermenters of 5.000 kg. Natural extractions by gravity. Malolactic fermentation and 28 months ageing in new French oak barrels.
