Description
Rioja Crianza is far too often a wine category, whose quality, trimmed by industrial production and massive output to commercial success, rarely promises what the name suggests. Unlike our BAIGORRI Crianza: Authentic quality, originating from the vineyards of Rioja Alavesa, hand crafted and bottled without being fined or filtered. A powerful, fruit driven red wine, with enough structure and grip for a long life, but already far too tasty when it is young.
Crianza red wine made from the varieties Tempranillo (90%), Garnacha (5%) and a small percentage of other native ones, sourced exclusively from vineyards located in Rioja Alavesa.
After a manual picking, all the grapes are hand-selected using vibration and selection tables. Long macerations and intracellular fermentations with indigenous yeasts in conic stainless-steel tanks. Natural extraction by gravity. 14 month ageing in French and American oak barrels.
Vineyards
Several plots located in the villages Samaniego, Laguardia und Leza, Rioja Alavesa, with its typical calcareous clay soils. Average altitude: 600 meter. Vine training system: mainly Gobelet (bush vine system). Sustainable viticulture with 100% handcraft.
Tasting note
Deep cherry-red colour. Aromas of freshly picked black fruits and spices; complex and seductive. Elegant, silky and fruit driven on the palate; nice freshness. Long and intense finish.
